Final Fantasy VII: The Dark Ancestor
Chapter 12: Kidnappings
Absolute stillness. Not a single person moved. The mustiness of the room created puddles of blood around the horrors of death that used Faith and her friends, family, and numerous WRO soldiers.
Amazingly enough, a few more WRO troops came into the room, following the sounds of screams through the dungeon. The one who seemed to be the leader inspected the bodies. Not a single emotion of distress or uncomfortableness came across his face at the sight of them.
He turned to look at Faiths body, then he looked at raven. You were right, Madam Raven. It all worked out, just like you planned.
Suddenly, the paleness faded away from Ravens face. The glass that was gored into her body simple fell out of her. The bloody holes they left seemed to submerge and sink into her body and dissipate. She slowly got up and opened her blood red eyes and took a deep sigh, cracking her neck as the fracture in her spine repaired itself.
Yes, indeed. She said. Many of Faiths memories are now resonating within my mind. Her emotions
so much darkness was captured
the time for me to truly exist is drawing near.
Yes, Madam Raven.
Now then, it wont be long until Faiths body reassembles itself as well. She waved her hand over Cloud and the others dead bodies. Immediately, their wounds were healed and color returned. They all stood up groggily and absent minded. And every single one of them had acquired silted blood red eyes with their resurrection. Pitiful humans
so easy to manipulate. With them under my control, she will have no choice but to follow. Especially if the Cetra and SOLDIER are with me. Not only that, the whole WRO army has been quite useful, but no more. She released her control on the commander and his troops. Their eyes faded back to their natural colors and they fell to the floor. Not only that, her memories of Sephiroth have served well also
Her son
an excellent pawn to me
until he is no use to me
Faiths heart started beating slowly once again. Her body subtlety began to return to normal. Raven chuckled and disappeared in a black light along with Cloud, Zack, Aerith, Tifa and the others.
After half an hour of resurrecting, Faith finally stood and sighed. She looked around and gasped when she found that her friends and Raven were gone. She saw the commander and his followers on the ground, but she still sensed life in them. She pulled out her phone and dialed a number.
Reeve? Youve got to release Zack and Cloud!
What? Reeve said confused. Zack and Cloud? I havent dispatched any WRO troops to do any arrests! Especially not on them!
Well
what about to do a few tests with Shelke?
No
Shelke hasnt talked to me. I havent talked to her in so long, how is she?
Forget that! A whole bunch of WROs came and took everyone away!
Everyone? Who all is everyone?
Cloud, Zack, Tifa, Aerith, Shelke, Rika, Angeal and Genesis!!
Hmm
well it certainly wasnt by my orders. And no one has been reported as arrested.
What? Are you sure?
Positive.
Hmm
She heard the commander on the floor groan as he began to wake up. She ran to him. Hey, are you okay!?
Y-yeah. Ill be fine.
What happened?
Faith! Reeve said, Whats going on?
Commissioner? The WRO wondered. Faith handed him the phone. Sir, we have a situation.
What is it?
An entity has taken over my squad and kidnapped Cloud and the others.
So thats it. Were you one of the manipulated?
Yes, sir. The entity is a female
a female Ancient.
An Ancient!?
Yes, sir. Actually, a spirit of an Ancient who went bad. Shes planing to destrory the world by taking over Madam Faiths body and using her powers. She has captured Zack, Cloud and the others Im afraid. And shes planning to resurrect Sephiroth through Madam Faiths memories of him.
What!? Reeve and Faith gasped.
Shall I send a search party? Reeve suggested.
No need, Faith said. I can sense their presence out and find them. Besides this is something I need to take care of.
All right. But call if you need any help.
Yes sir! The WRO said.
All right. Thank you, Reeve. Goodbye. She took the phone from him and hung up.
I trust you to bring them back and my squad, Madam Faith! He saluted her.
Faith saluted back. Ill do what I can.
I will report the rest of my findings to the commissioner. Good luck, madam! He ran off.
Faith walked into the computer room to see the damage. She ran her hand against the wall until her necklace started glowing, as did the screen on the master computer.
The screen lit with a memorable memory.
Zack had just been promoted to SOLDIER 1st Class just a moment ago, and a Shinra Scientist had just explained his new ability to fuse materia that he had obtained. As Zack was about to exit the room to go back to the Directors Office, Sephiroth stepped in with Faith holding on to his left shoulder, surprising Zack with his unexpected appearance.
"Sephiroth." Zack said as he nearly walked into him.
"Zack, I have something else I need to ask of you."
"Please, don't push anything else on me..."
"Well, I thought you wanted to take Faith to all the places this world has to offer."
"Huh?" Zack said with a slight bewildered look on his face. He turned his gaze over to Faith on Sephiroth's shoulder, who nearly slipped off of his metal shoulder gaurd. She grabbed back on and shyly giggled at him with a smile. "You serious!?"
Sephiroth raised his arm and Faith grabbed on and hung on like she was on the monkey bars. He held her out to Zack. Zack tried to take her carefully from him, but Sephiroth held out a hand to stop him. "I'm putting full trust in you. If anything were to happen to her--"
"Leave it to me! Don't worry I'll take good care of her!"
"Very well." Faith shimmied off Sephiroth's arm onto Zack's then onto his back. "She's all yours." He opened his hand and handed Zack a folded up piece of paper. He started to walk off as he said, "I'm counting on you."
Zack unfurled the piece of paper. It had Sephiroth's personal instructions of how to take care of her. Zack looked through the list and nodded and comitted each one to memory. But one especially caught his attention. 'She needs a daily dose of 2 fluid ounces of mako each day. A prior illness requires her to have it injected into her bloodstream.'
"Hmm...?" Zack muttered to himself. He read through it one more time and saw that he hadn't unfolded it all the way. Zack smiled and chuckled a bit. It was a photo taken with Sephiroth, Genesis, Angeal and Faith. All smiling and teasing with Faith.
Faith gazed over his shoulder and laughed. "It was a lot more fun around here before Uncle Genesis and Angeal left!"
Zack sighed and put the photo and note in his back pocket. "It sure was."
The screen flickered and faded into darkness. All Faith could see was her sad reflection on the surface.
She reached into her pocket and pulled out two photographs. One of her family and friends taken just the week prior, with two familiar faces blended spiritually into the photo. And the other, the same picture of her, Sephiroth, Genesis and Angeal, smiling and teasing all those years ago.
